Sask Water SSEWSS Zelma East Raw Water Pipeline

BHP Auger Bore

Lanigan, Saskatchewan to BHP Saskatchewan Mine Site

This project incorporated a water supply line that was designed to provide water to one of Saskatchewan’s largest Potash mines. Where locations of open-cut installation methods were unattainable, Auger Bore methods were performed. Familiar with the Saskatchewan landscape, Hamm was able to forecast and mitigate the risks associated with the weather, public and ground conditions. A unique aspect of the project was the environmental monitoring and reporting required. Specific scopes of work included:

  • 21 Auger Bore drill shots
  • 73 total meters of 1050mm steel casing beneath CP Rail lines
  • 56 meter Auger Bore of 1050mm steel casing beneath Highway No. 667
  • 533 total meters of 1050mm steel casing beneath grid roads
  • 30 meter Auger Bore of 1050mm steel casing beneath a stream
