Weaver Park Dry Storm Pond and Sewer

This project involved the winter excavation and construction of a dry stormwater management pond, designed to mitigate flooding in existing neighborhoods. The scope of work included the installation of storm sewer pipes ranging in diameter from 450mm to 1200mm, along with the placement of large precast manholes to support the system’s functionality. The storm sewer installation was conducted at depths reaching up to 6.5 meters within established residential neighborhoods, necessitating careful planning and execution to minimize disruption. As the General Contractor, HAMM managed the road and concrete reconstruction to restore and enhance the affected streets, ensuring long-term durability and functionality. Specific scopes of work included:

  • Excavation of 35,455m3 of material for the Dry Storm Pond
  • Installation of 946m of RCP and DR51 storm sewer ranging from 900mm – 1200mm in diameter
  • Installation of 16 2100 and 2400mm diameter manholes
  • Installation of 10 K1/K3 catch basins
  • Replaced 350m of existing water main with 200mm PVC
